You can also restore SMS and Call log from Gmail to any android device.

Remember to enable IMAP in Gmail and set the correct time/zone.

"communication error..." error message during first connect? Please double check your Gmail account setup.

Some droid X/2 users: due to a timezone bug of motorola's firmware, incoming messages might not be backed up.

XOAuth might not work when you are signed up for 2-step verification. In this case you need to create an application-specific password and enable plain text authentication in preference. Use the username and password you created.

One of the best (if not THE best avaible) backup tools, that take advantage of gmail. Easy to use (set&forget). The setup is simple, straightforward and readable. So far (around a year that I have it), there weren't any issues with it's functionality or backup&restore functions. Just three words: I Reccomend It!

Very good. I could view my call log and SMSes on Gmail even if my phone is not with me. One thing which I want it to be improved though: When I need to restore call log and SMSes (i.e. wipe off my phone to change ROM), it would restore around one-third of the total number of items. It happens like that all the time

The creator of this app took open source code from SMS Backup(+) without crediting the original authors. edit: author has finally added credits
